Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make an instrument of your peace
where there is hatred, let me sow love
where there is injury, pardon
where there is doubt, faith
where there is despair, hope
where there is darkness, light
Anhd where there is sadness, joy
Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled, as to console
to be understood, as to understand
to be loved, as to love
for it is in giving that we receive
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned
and it is dying that we are born to eternal life.

MOTHER THERESA PREDICTION 2009

You were chosen to receive this novena. The moment you receive it, say:

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven,
give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us and
lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Examination of Conscience - 14

14. Have you given credit to yourself for your talent, wealth and health forgetting the authority of God?

“Do not say to yourself, “my power and the might of my own hand have gotten me this wealth.” But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives your power to get wealth, so that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your ancestors, as he is doing today.”
(Dueteronomy 8:17-18)

“Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a town and spend a year there doing business and making money.” Yet you do not even know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.”
(James 4:13-14)

Examination of Conscience - 13

13. Have you received the Holy Sacrament without preparation, unworthily or without faith?

“Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be answerable for the body and blood of the Lord. Examine yourselves and only then eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For all who eat and drink without discerning the body eat and drink judgment against themselves. For this reasons many of you are weak and ill, and some have died. But if we judged ourselves, we would not be judged. But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world.” (1Corinthians 11:27-32)

Examination of Conscience - 12

12. All vows are for the glory of God. Have you intentionally kept away from fulfilling such vows? Are you in the habit of making vows frequently?

“Let nothing hinder you from paying a vow promptly, and do not wait until death to be released from it. Before making a vow, prepare yourself; do not be like one who puts the Lord to the test.” (Sirach 18:22-23)

“The one who swears many oaths is full of iniquity and the scourge will not leave his house. If he swears in error his sin remains on him, and if he disregards it, he sins doubly; if he swears a false oath, he will not be justified for his house will be filled with calamities. There is a manner of speaking comparable to death; may it never be found in the inheritance of Jacob! Such conduct will be far from the Godly and they will wallow in sins.” (Sirach 23:11,12)

“And they came, everyone whose heart was stirred, and everyone whose spirit was willing, and brought the Lord’s offering to be used for the tent of meeting, and for all its service, and for the sacred vestments.” (Exodus 35:21)

“If you make a vow to the Lord your God, do not postpone fulfilling it; for the Lord your God will surely require it of you, and you would incur guilt. But if you refrain from vowing, you will not incur guilt. Whatever your lips utter, you must diligently perform, just as you have freely vowed to the Lord your God with your own mouth.” (Deuteronomy 23:21-23)

Examination of Conscience - 11

11. Have you scorn falsely in the name of the Lord or the Bible or made others to do so? Have you taken the name of the Lord in vain?

“Do not accustom your mouth to oaths, not habitually utter the name of the Holy One; for as a servant who is constantly under scrutiny will not lack bruises, so also the person who always swears and utters the Name will never be cleansed from sin. The one who swears many oaths is full of iniquity, and the scourge will not leave his house. If he swears in error, his sin remains on him, and if he disregard it, he sins doubly; if he swears a false oath, he will not be justified, for his house will be filled with calamities.” (Sirach 23:9-11)

Examination of Conscience - 10

10. Have you tired to seek favours of men more than God? To please men have you acted disregarding God?

Am I now seeking human approval, or God’s approval? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still pleasing people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” (Galatians 1:10)

Examination of Conscience - 9

9. Have you insulted or spoken disreputably about the Ministers of the Lord (Bishops, Priests, Nuns, Altar Boys or the religious? Have you worked against them or manhandled them?

“He allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their account, saying, “Don not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.” (Psalms 105:14,15)

“With all you soul fear the Lord, and revere his priests, With all your might love your Maker, and do not neglect his ministers. Fear the Lord and honor the Priest, and give him his portion, as you have been commanded: The first fruits, the guilt offering, the gift of the shoulders, the sacrifice of sanctification, and the first fruits of the holy things.” (Sirach 7:29,31)

Examination of Conscience - 8

8. Have you been irresponsive to the church or its ministry by not offering financial support or tithes?

“Will anyone rob God? Yet you are robbing me! But you say, “How are we robbing you?” In your tithes and offerings! You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me the whole nation of you! Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you and overflowing blessing. I will rebuke the locust for you, so that it will not destroy the produce of your soil; and you vine in the field shall not be barren, says the Lord of hosts. Then all nations will count you happy, for you will be a land of delight, says the Lord of hosts.”

(Malachi 3:8-12)
